Where We’ve Been
We bought our bus in Florida and converted it outside of Atlanta, GA. We traveled south to Florida and our first big trip was from the eastern coast of Florida to Maine beginning in September ‘18. We hit countless beaches and lighthouses along the way. Then we drove back to Florida through the mountains of New Hampshire, Vermont, Virginia and through the mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina in the fall, watching the trees light up into glorious oranges an reds along the way.
In December, we returned to Georgia so Elizabeth could graduate with her Master’s in American Studies from Kennesaw State. This achievement also gave us the freedom to travel to the West. We spent the holidays in San Antonio Texas with family and reached Arizona in early 2019. We stayed for weeks near Quartzsite, AZ, and attended RTR and Skoolie Palooza festivals where me met many like-minded people living nomadic lives like us.
After the festivals, we visited friends and family in Phoenix, Kingman, and Las Vegas, then in early February, we rolled into Southern California. Over the next two months, we stayed in So Cal and worked on the bus while spending time with more family and friends. Then, on April 14, 2019, we set out on another cross country trip back to Florida via Washington State.
Our most recent cross-country trip took us through 13 states and through the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Yellowstone, Denver, Wichita, KS, then down through Nashville and Atlanta again. We spent June ‘19 in Florida, Richar’ds home base.
Out summer adventures will take us back to Georgia, up to New York state, and then out to North Dakota. Hindsight is 20/20, but there’s no telling where the road will take us from there. Hope to see you on the HWY!
